World’s most expensive cars ranked, rare $3.9 million Lamborghini Veneno tops list
It should be no surprise that money buys speed in the car world. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the world’s fastest car, ranks third on the list of the world’s most expensive cars. Models from Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and McLaren help to round out the top ten, as well as a feature from the $1.1 million Hennessey Venom GT Spyder owned by Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.

The world’s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, interestingly loses its hold on the most expensive car title by a margin. It seems price and speed don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand.
At $3.9 million, the new Lamborghini Veneno that was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show tops the list. It's so expensive that Lamborghini only built three examples of the car — all three of which sold before the automaker formally unveiled its futuristic look.
The first Middle Eastern supercar, the Lykan Hypersport from W Motors, makes its way into second place on the list. With a $3.4 million price tag, this car makes its value known not only in power, but also in its look, boasting diamond-crusted LED headlights.
Finally, in third place, the poor Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has been ousted. It seems $2.4 million is a near bargain, considering the sheer speed this French supercar packs.
Among the top cars, three were unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last month, showing a continuing upward trend in price and features on high-end supercars.
While it seems that all of the cars on the list have a limited run, it is likely that their six- and seven-figure price tags help keep the buying pool exclusive.
