A man in China had been living with two wild beasts for two years
thinking they were dogs. Farmer, Wang Kaiyu, bought two young puppies
while in Vietnam in 2013 after he craved for pets.
Kaiyu soon realised his beloved ‘dogs’ were black bears when he saw a wildlife protection poster put out by local police. He contacted the local public security bureau and the bears were sent to a rescue centre.According to bears – one male and one female – are in good health and now weigh around 50kg apiece.
But after the dogs started behaving strangely, he became suspicious. On one occasion, the animals returned home with a butchered chicken, something a normal pet dog wouldn’t do.
