Sony beta testing 'a new concept Android software,'its Xperia UI may be in for redesign

Sony might be hard at work on a complete overhaul of its aging Xperia UI, a new invitation program reveals. Sony Mobile Sweden, where these tests usually go, has posted a search for beta testers on an “opportunity to trial a new concept Android software build for [the] Xperia Z3“. Now, however, the situation seems to be different, as Sony is apparently testing “a concept Sony Android software version, with a fresh take on the Sony user experience. Could this mean that the company is prepping a novel take on the Xperia UI for an upcoming flagship, maybe the Xperia Z5, and a potential update of its current warriors to the new coat of Android paint?

It very well could be, though companies are known to constantly test out stuff, then discard or change the plans significantly in the process. There have been several rumors that Sony will take a completely different design turn with its next flagship, probably the Z5, and a fresh new interface might be there along for the ride.
