Our Iceland Product Executive, Andy, takes us on a culinary journey at Iceland's stylish Hotel Husafell...
This being my second visit to Hotel Husafell, I had the added benefit of knowing just what to expect
walking through the doors of this place. Aside from the great views of the mountains offered immediately as you enter thanks to the large floor to ceiling windows in the main lobby, a warm welcome, great food and some memorable experiences lay in wait for both my colleague and I.
Arriving to a warm greeting, it was time for a ‘quick’ freshen up in the room before dinner. Although once in the room, the greatest allure pulling me away from my incredibly comfortable bed was the prospect of the tantalising food on offer...Stepping into the beautifully designed high ceiling restaurant with a modern fire place in the middle, I already had an idea in my mind of what I was to have for dinner. When in Iceland one must try the lamb and I had in fact saved myself until this point to have it. The lamb, prepared using fresh local produce, just melted in my mouth and was undoubtedly one of the best things on the menu!
My colleague did opt for the vegetarian option however in the grilled aubergine served with seasonal fresh vegetables and roasted peppers and was equally as impressed. Husafell really is one of those places where no matter what you order from the menu, you will not be disappointed as the chefs really do take pride in what they do when creating these amazing dishes.

With Husafell being one of the more sought after hotels in Iceland, you really do get the impression that they just get it right every time…Self-proclaimed as a luxury hotel for the adventurous spirit is something which I couldn’t agree with more. The relatively simple drive from Reykjavik takes just under two hours and is filled with plenty of different stops of geological and historical importance to whet your appetite for the Icelandic countryside.
