That’s Pure Fashion Fantasy

Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl Has a Wedding Video.

Nicole Warne—a social media star who started the online vintage store Gary
Pepper Girl in 2009 and now boasts more than 1.7 million Instagram followers—married photographer Luke Shadbolt in New Zealand at the end of March. Over three days of activities, the bride wore five custom looks, starting with a tailored top and pants by Australian designer Toni Maticevski for the welcome party. Next up was the haute couture long-sleeved Valentino wedding dress that’s now been seen around the world. Complete with cut-outs, intricate embellishments, and embroidery, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli conjured up Warne’s dream gown by merging elements from two Fall 2017 looks that she’d fallen in love with. At the reception, Warne changed into a strapless ruffled showstopper by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia of Oscar de la Renta, then finished the night in a white satin party dress accented with Swarovski crystals by Dion Lee. For the following day’s Hamptons-themed brunch, she was in a long silk faille slip dress by her jewelry designer pals Michael Lo Sordo and Ryan Storer. The extensive lineup made for a wedding wardrobe that can only be described as awe-inspiring, and a wedding video that captures the palpable romance of the day but also, lucky for us, serves to catalog this epic fashion moment (or moments, as the case may be). Topping it all off, the entire bridal party hopped aboard two waiting helicopters for a post-ceremony photo op that felt like it was on the edge of the earth. Then again, we wouldn’t expect anything less than out of this world from a bride who took her groom skydiving on their first date!

Donna Karan to Step Down at DKI

One of the most important designers in the history of American fashion, Donna Karan, is stepping down as chief designer of Donna Karan International. Karan, 66, plans to devote greater time to her Urban Zen company and foundation, but will remain a close adviser to DKI under a long-term agreement, according to the company. The designer created a modern system of dressing for legions of successful women, while establishing a tremendous rapport with her customers, which continues to this day. Karan cofounded DKI with her late husband Stephan Weiss and Takiyho Inc. in 1984. In 1996, DKI went public on the New York Stock Exchange, and in 2001, LVMH Moët Hennessey Louis Vuitton paid $243 million for all outstanding shares in DKI, plus $400 million for Gabrielle Studio Inc., the licensor of the Donna Karan trademarks. “LVMH and I have made this decision after much soul-searching,” said Karan on Tuesday. “I have arrived at a point in my life where I need to spend more time
