From face-framing hairstyles to strategic showings of skin, this week's best beauty Instagrams were all about (casually) calculated beauty moments. For Alexa Chung, a trip to Kyoto elicited a lean toward Samurai-inspired plaits, the duo blended into her easy brunette and left to flank her face.
In another part of Japan, Bella Hadidparted her overgrown bangs at center, taking her tie-back up a '90s notch. Undone baby braids and a crown of iconic dreadlocks made for an ultimate family moment when captured in a self-facing snap featuring father-daughter-duo Lenny and Zoë Kravitz; the genetic vibe was echoed by Adwoa Aboah, her sister Kesewa, and their luminous skin and cultivated manes.
And along with her characteristic glossy lengths, peachy-nude pout, and smattering of freckles, Emily Ratajkowski reimagined a free-the-nipple moment as a covert affair, the body parts peeking from beneath a barely-there PVC trench coat, and the look finished with a set of aquamarine lucite hoops. Because following trends is made much more fun with the addition of idiosyncratic twists.
