A Public Health Physician, Dr Michael Oguntoye, has warned that mobile phones could transmit diseases and infections if it comes in contact with body fluids of an infected person.

Oguntoye told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that telephones are "fomites" which could fill in as medium of transmitting viral creature, causing ailments and contaminations on individuals.
He depicted fomites as any non-living item or substance fit for conveying irresistible creatures, for example, infections or microbes.
"Taking a PDA into the restroom and afterward leaving with it, can convey sicknesses and germs, particularly when you don't wash your hands and afterward turning out," he said.
As indicated by him, telephones can exchange ailments and infection starting with one individual then onto the next. Oguntoye, a disease transmission specialist with Kwara Ministry of Health, prompted individuals to repel telephones from the latrine and watch individual cleanliness, for example, hand washing constantly.
He likewise prescribed cleaning of telephones with disinfectant that would not hurt the telephones.
