Trading of Nigerian cargoes have been sluggish as traders awaited the results of a tender from India’s IOC, Reuters reports. Strengthening demand for gasoline had helped clear some cargoes and support margins for the product, and thus lighter grades of crude oil. Bonny Light, Escravos and Qua Iboe were all offered at around dated Brent plus $1.00 a barrel. Results from a tender to buy crude loading June 1-10 from Indian Oil Corp. are expected on Friday.

    The national electricity grid lost 2,591 megawatts (mw) on Wednesday due to gas shortage, line constraint and low water level across 12 Generation Companies (GenCos), Daily Trust reports. Daily power generation statistics showed that the peak (highest) generation was 3,932mw on April 5, 2017 from which 87,244 megawatts hour (mwh) energy was sent out through the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to the 11 Distribution Companies (DisCos) for supply to end users. The industry data also showed that 77 turbines were available and could have produced 6,887mw if the dominant tripartite constraints of gas, line and water level were addressed. However, only 44 worked, producing 3,486mw off peak, while 33 turbines were shutdown. A breakdown indicates that gas constraints accounted for 2,443mw of the power loss in 10 gas-based power stations. Water management also affected power generation in the mid-week. Kunle Falayi Two bus conductors, 22-year-old Lateef Sodiq and 21-year-old Tunde Lawal, have been nabbed by men of the Lagos State Command after robbing a  motorist of his Honda saloon car. The duo are members of a car-snatching gang operating in Lagos. According to the suspects, they “supplement” their work as bus conductors with robbery. Sodiq told our correspondent that he was arrested in a bus by men of the Alakara Police Division, Lagos, who were already on his trail without his knowledge.   He said that on Wednesday, after concluding his bus conducting duty, he went to meet other members of his gang and they snatched the Honda at Sabo area of Yaba, Lagos and dumped the driver of the vehicle at Obanikoro along Ikorodu Road. He said,  “We did not beat the owner of the vehicle, we just asked him for the security codes of the car. “This is the second time I would follow the gang to snatch a vehicle.
